I bought this mainly because I wanted a lighter weight snowblower that I need to take over 2 sets of stairs. When I first tried it the snow was very wet, early in the season when it wasn't very cold out and it started clogging when I was about finished. Now that it's colder it does a better job and it seems to throw the snow more vigorously the heavier the snow it goes through. I've never had it throw snow over 4 or 5 feet but that's not a problem. I sprayed some silicone on the chute and that seemed to help keep it from clogging. I haven't used it on deep snow yet so the jury's still out on that...
Pros:
- It's lightweight
- Starting is simple
- It's quieter and not smelly like my gas snowblower - and no need to keep gas on hand.
- Cost - I paid $179.00 - for what it does, not bad.
Cons:
- Sometimes clogs
- It has a lock you have to push first to engage the motor lever, which is a pain. I put a plastic C clamp on it so it's unlocked all the time.
- The cord. However I have a low temp blue cord on a reel and before beginning I unreel it in a pile and it works out OK but occasionally will get hung up on something. I just throw the cord over my shoulder when operating it and it's not a big problem.
The snow thrower is very light weight and portable. Cleans up my parking lot very quickly. I'm very happy with the purchase. Fairly cheap and get the job done right!
